Technical Netball Newsletter July 2020

Finally! Everyone is underway on the netball courts and it was wonderful to once again see Hagley Park a sea of colourful bodies. Great results this week have seen the four top teams (Premier and Senior Reserve) win their games, along with U19 and U17. To round it off the U13 team drew 4-4 against STAC. We encourage you to fill the facebook page with comments and pics of your game wherever possible, only use first names if required. Love to see a team photo of you all, coach as well!

It can be a bit cold on a Saturday, and jackets are well and good, but a bit more warmth can be gained from having a black Club Hoodie. Currently they are around $60, which includes having your nickname on the back. If you are interested in having one, then reply to this newsletter with required name and usual clothing size. We will put in an order and get confirmation of delivery date. There will be just the one order this year.

The one Fundraising Event we have planned is a Quiz Night on Sunday 9 August, details are coming by separate newsletter and all teams received a flyer at the weekend. This will follow directly on from the Crusaders vs Highlanders game at Orangetheory stadium. So here's your chance to warmup and celebrate another win over some good food, drink and rivalry.

The Entertainment Books are still for sale. The Club receives $14 for every book sold.   The current version covers Christchurch, Canterbury and Nelson, however you can order books for other regions, such as Dunedin. The link to the Technical Netball payment page is http://www.entbook.co.nz/13485g7 which is where you can order and pay online using credit card details. The books cost $70, plus a small credit card fee.

It feels like everything has money attached to it, but on a more positive note, Netball encourages positive sideline behaviour. Team players, management and all supporters represent the Technical family, so remember these pearls of wisdom before you open your mouth:

#1 Cheer smart - Learn about the game, so you can encourage friends and family to take part.
#2 Cheer with honour - Respect the rules and traditions of the game, and all participants.
#3 Cheer proud - Set an example of fair play for all; Give the cold shoulder to abuse & bad sports.
#4 Cheer fair - Be dignified and gracious whatever the result, whatever the ruling.
#5 Cheer loud - Give it heaps in a way that lets everyone know we love the game.

It is after all, just a game that we play and follow for enjoyment and sharing a team spirit.

You can follow us on Facebook. Search for 'Technical Netball Club' and ask to join the group. Also keep an eye on our website www.technicalnetball.co.nz.
