Technical Netball Club

All players need to complete an online registration form to be eligible to play in ChCh Netball Centre Saturday competition.

Trials & Team Selection

Most trials are held at Hagley Park, except for the first Premier trial.  Look for a large group near a Technical banner sign.  Aim to arrive 10 minutes before the advertised starting time, so that we can check your attendance and get warmed up.  Please attend all sessions.  If you cannot attend a session then please let Selectors know.

You should have indicated your preferred playing position on the registration form and Selectors will make every effort to ensure you do trial at least once in two of these positions.  However it is impossible to meet every player's expectations.  Selectors will assess your general netball skills and confirm the areas you can play in (goal circle, mid court, defence) without necessarily specifying any one particular position.

Team squads of 9 are preferred with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 10 as numbers permit.  Generally these will announced at the last trial session when the teams can get together and decide on a practice time that suits everyone, including the coach.  In some cases, coaches or players may need to change teams if a suitable time cannot be agreed

We suggest you make use of Trade Me, or Facebook to buy or sell uniforms.

Club Issued Gear

Players may be issued with a Technical Netball jacket where supplies are available.  This must be returned at the end of the season.  We have spent a substantial amount of our fundraising money on this gear however we have had some difficulty in getting it back.  If you do not return your gear then we will be charging you to cover their replacement.  The current replacements costs are $62 for a jacket.

Clearance from previous club

If you are new to Technical Netball Club then you are required to complete a clearance form and hand into the front office at the Hagley netball courts BEFORE you play your first game.  If it is not done then the player is deemed unregistered and the team will have two competition points deducted.  The cost is $1 to be paid by the player.  An executive from the previous club must sign the clearance form.  See your coach for a clearance form (or get one from the netball office).

All teams entered in Under 19 grades and above are required to supply 2 umpires when requested. Usually you will need to umpire the game following the one you played in.  If you are required to umpire before your game, then the team will be notified a couple of days before.
